How it's made? first of, we get the fishes regardless of size. the bigger, the better because bigger fish are more expensive. once we got fishes, we have to do de-scaling, cutting and cleaning. afterward, we have to do grinding and crushing. most people crush fishes with their barefoot (how disgusting) :D Once they are crushed, they will be salted and store within a jar full of salted. it will be placed under the sun for one full day. then ready to consume.
why it's made? Cambodia is rich in fishes and it is season based. this method help Cambodian to preserve their fish up to few years. and Prohok is one of the ingredient to be found in many Cambodian dishes.
To sum up, i used to shoot this question "can we preserve the frenship forever?"... the answer from time to time always the same. "nth can last forever". all we can do is to enjoy every moment that we have. we don know what's going to happen in the next day. it is true. the future is unpredictable but to me, what i am having is more valuable then the fact "nth can last forever" which make me dying to preserve it. I wish there's a method to preserve frenship like Prohok.
motivation is very important especially mental support. if we are not confident from initial state, how could we feel confident that it can be done???

Wow what an interesting topic...lolzZ I thought you give a full detail of Prohok but turn out to link to friendship...we can keep our friendship.. a lot of people can make it. It must be a true love of each party. It is hard to find the match one ... :D

it happen from time to time. i used to shoot this question and always get same answer. so far, i haven't heard other answer like what u just comment te.
We are made to be different! If everyone is the same..the world should be a boring place... So each one must understand and tolerate each other! I cut some you cut some then it will stick together no matter what.

longer than fish
fish is hard to keep.. that's why people will have to do many steps to get the fish into prohok so that they can keep it for long...
Similar to friendship, once you know someone, it's difficult to make it last. You will have to do a lot of steps to get ur friendship into a stage that can last long... if u dun even do ur very best to reach that stage, how can u say friendship is difficult to keep? Yeah, it's difficult, but not impossible!
